The Providence Journal Launches Media Program Network (MPN) Food Lifestyle Video Service

June 4, 2013

The Providence Journal combines MPN's HD Video with their local food content

The Providence Journal Company has launched Media Program Network's recipe and food video service on their website; www.providencejournal.com. The Journal's website visitors are now able to get more answers to the daily question, "What’s for dinner?" In addition to the full library of 625 videos, MPN provides over 2,800 text only recipes. Each video is accompanied by a list of ingredients and recipe instructions.

"We are excited to expand upon and enrich our Food content offering for our readers through our new partnership with MPN. The interactive recipe videos and the overall expansive list of text recipes are a great complement to our products" said Deborah Tomilson, Divisional Vice President of audience, business development & digital for The Providence Journal.

As an affiliate, the Journal also has pre-roll and banner advertising that is associated with the content. All of the video pre-roll ads and banners can be managed through MPN's Content Management System (CMS) that is provided to each newspaper affiliate. The newspaper can either upload the banners and videos or link their ad servers directly through the system.

"We are very pleased to partner with The Providence Journal," said Joe Langhan, President of MPN. "They have integrated our video and text content with their own local content to make an extremely robust food site for their readers and website visitors. It is a combination resulting in a full service food and cooking site."

In addition to the library, MPN's service provides several new videos each week and a weekly schedule of live, interactive cooking programs.
